Privacy Policy
Last updated May 5, 2026
This policy explains what Pico collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. Pico is built by an independent developer and does not run servers, analytics, or advertising. Your training data stays on your device and (optionally) in your own iCloud account.
What Pico collects
- Profile you enter, your first name (or whatever you type) and a few preferences (skill level, goals, daily reminder times, Pico's color and hat).
- Training progress, XP, streaks, completed sessions, and per-round results.
- Microphone audio, when you sing during a Sing round, the audio is analyzed on your device in real time to estimate pitch. The audio is held in memory only for the duration of that round and is never recorded, uploaded, or transmitted off your device.
- Subscription status, whether you have an active Pico subscription. Billing and payment are handled by Apple; we do not receive your payment details.
Where this data lives
- On your device, in the iOS app's local storage (UserDefaults).
- In your iCloud, Pico mirrors the items above to Apple's iCloud key-value store, controlled by your Apple ID, so that reinstalling the app on a device signed into the same iCloud account restores your progress. You can disable iCloud sync for Pico in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud.
Pico does not have its own backend server. None of the items above are sent to us or to any third party.
What Pico does not collect
- No advertising identifiers, analytics, or third-party trackers.
- No location data.
- No contacts, photos, calendar, or other system data.
- No payment information (Apple handles all subscription transactions).
- No recordings of your voice are saved.
Notifications
If you enable reminders, Pico schedules local notifications on your device. The schedule is stored locally; nothing is sent to a notification server other than Apple's standard local notification mechanism.
Subscriptions
The Pico subscription is auto-renewing and sold via Apple. When you subscribe, Apple shares a transaction receipt with the app so we can verify your access. We do not see your Apple ID, name, address, or payment method. See Apple's Privacy Policy for how Apple handles your purchase data.
Children
Pico is suitable for general audiences and contains no third-party data collection. The app does not knowingly request personal information from anyone, including children. No data is collected by us regardless of the user's age.
Your choices
- Reset: in Pico → Me → Settings, you can reset your local data.
- Stop iCloud sync: turn off iCloud for Pico in iOS Settings.
- Revoke microphone: in iOS Settings → Privacy → Microphone, toggle Pico off. Listen rounds still work; Sing rounds will not.
- Delete everything: uninstall the app and, optionally, sign out of iCloud or remove Pico's iCloud data via iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
- Cancel a subscription: iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.
Changes
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change and the new policy will be posted at this URL. Material changes will be highlighted in-app on next launch.
