Common questions

Pico can't hear me (the mic isn't picking up)

Open iOS Settings → Pico → Microphone and make sure access is on. If it's already on, quit Pico from the app switcher and reopen it. If another app (a call, a voice memo, AirPods control) is holding the mic, Pico won't get audio until you close it.

Pitch readings feel off

Pico works best in a quiet room, with your phone 15–30 cm from your mouth. Background music, fans, and TVs can confuse the detector. Bluetooth headsets with low-quality mics also hurt accuracy. The built-in iPhone mic is usually best.

Manage or cancel my subscription

Subscriptions are billed through Apple, not Pico. To manage or cancel:

  1. Open iOS Settings and tap your name at the top.
  2. Tap Subscriptions.
  3. Select Pico and choose Cancel Subscription.

Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep access until the end of the current period. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.

Restore a subscription on a new device

Sign in to the same Apple ID you used to subscribe, install Pico, and tap Restore Purchases on the paywall or in Settings inside the app.

Refunds

All payments are handled by Apple, so refunds go through Apple too. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the Pico charge, and request a refund. If Apple declines and you think there's been a mistake, email us and we'll do what we can.

My streak or progress disappeared

Pico syncs your XP, streak, history, trophies, and settings through iCloud automatically; there is no account to create. For that to work, your iPhone needs to be signed in to the same iCloud account. Signing out of iCloud (or turning off iCloud Drive for the device) can clear local data, so check iOS Settings → your name → iCloud if something looks lost, then reopen Pico and give it a moment to pull your progress back.

Notifications aren't arriving

Check iOS Settings → Notifications → Pico and confirm Allow Notifications is on. Inside Pico, open Settings → Reminders to set when you'd like to be nudged.

Does Pico work without internet?

Yes. Pitch detection runs entirely on your device. You only need a connection for the initial subscription purchase and for restoring purchases.
